Fins and Feathers

As most of you know the weather here in Oklahoma has been HOT HOT HOT. So this morning when I got up and it was cool, cloudy with a chance of rain, Will and I headed to the zoo. We normally go a couple of times a month but it has been so hot, so today we a great break!

We arrived about 9AM, feeding time. The elephants are in Tulsa trying to make baby elephants but the Rhinos were out in full force. All 6 of them were facing us and eating. Sounds simple I know but Will thought it was so neat. He just kept saying rhino eat and signing eat. So cute. Our zoo also has what is called Fins and Feathers, it is a show with seals, sea lions and a white bird (I forget what he is). Will has a book with seals, so seeing them do the tricks and make noise was so fun for him. Although he didn't understand why the trainer was up there and why he couldn't "play". We also enjoyed a ride on the Centennial Choo Choo Train. Will loves trains! You actually ride through the exhibit, he really enjoyed it, it was a nice way to spend the day! But the best part was after the zoo, we got to go to Aunt Heather's office and surprise her for lunch! Wonderful day!

My Mom made me sit down :( This was the best I could do

The train had to make some stop before entering and exiting the exhibit. Will was unimpressed. You can see here he is signing for more!

Cousin Camden and Will

Camden and Heather came over this evening for a visit and the boys had a blast together. Between art projects, food and pushing each other in the chair they were busy. The older Will gets the more they are able to play together. When it was time to go Camden even wanted to stay at Aunt Candice's house, he loves me so! We are lucky that they are living so close that we can get together! We love you guys!
Aunt Candice's Famous Art Project - Contact Paper, feathers, yarn, streamers and pipe cleaners.

You are see there is still food in Will's bowl but he is eating Camdens'. Poor Cam!

Here Camden is pushing Will, sadly enough it was easier for Will to push Camden than for Cam to push Will. Camden may be 9 months older but Will has almost 10 pounds on him.

Evening Fun

After dinner our regular routine is to head outside, tonight was no different. Will was playing peek-a-boo behind the fence and I was able to grab a couple of cute shots of him, nothing professional but cute. He is getting so strong, when he wanted his car to move he would pick it up and carry it. I need to get a photo of that. The neighborhood boys where out walking and when he saw them he took of running to go with them. The boys have come down to play with him before and he thought that time was no different, it was and he was sad. At the end of our outside adventure one of the neighbor girls was out checking her mail with her puppy. The puppy wanted to see Will just as much as Will wanted to see him. She was nice enough to bring him over for Will to see and play with. Overall it was a good night and we are looking forward to a good day tomorrow.
Peek-a-boo

This was so sad.

Another cute shot!

The puppy was so sweet.

What me run Mom!! If this isn't a future football player I don't know what is!

Afternoon Naps and New Shoes

After Will's nap his hair was so cute I had to take a photo! And this dimple...too cute for words.
Honestly his hair was fixed when I laid him down.
Take a look a Will's new tennis shoes! He loves them and I do too. They are little New Balances that we got at Browns Shoe Store. When I was little mom took me to Browns to get my shoes and I am so excited to be able to get Will's there.

Just Found

I was playing on the computer tonight and found some old pictures of Will and I. Some I haven't seen and I am sure no one else has either. Enjoy!
Getting ready to go have his 1 year pictures taken.
Another trip to the zoo in January.

Yummy!

For all those out there who question my cooking ability question no more!!
Thats right Will loves it!
Notice Dad is the one allowing him to lick the bowl.
Yes we are braving the big boy cup! Just like everything he suckers me in by doing a super job, I turn my head and he pours it on the ground.
He thought he was so cool. He actually did a great job.

Will and his new friend

Our neighbors have a black cat that has grown very attached to our house. I adore this cat and want him as my own...but that is another story. Today this sweet little cat came down to the house to see us and spent almost 15 minutes playing with Will, through the door of course. It was so sweet I recorded it was the video camera, Will was tapping on the glass and yelling MEOW. It was so sweet. Cyrus also enjoyed watching the cat also but for different reasons! :)

A day in the life of the Will

I wanted to share with everyone some of our daily activities around the Hyde House:
Here is Will as my cooking assistant, his job was to lick the spoon. Well he did and then wanted to carry around the spoon for a while and now I can't find the spoon. Just kidding, it is in his play kitchen but I just found it, dinner was a 6.
Here is Will doing...I'm not quite sure but he had a fun time!
Will is now wearing a cool pair of glasses Dad made for him during their playtime. You can also see his more recent accessory, the headband! I think he needs a fireman's hat of something more boy acceptable.
This is my life, he is running through the house and look at his shirt! Of course my new stain remover will take it right out but still. I mean look at him, you can see the speed!!
I just love him!

Happy 4th

Today being the 4th of July we wanted to celebrate as a family. Here in Norman there was going to be a big event at the park to celebrate. So we loaded the car and headed down. After arriving at the park there was nothing....ok there were some folks but not what we had anticipated. So we decided that we could just celebrate at the park by our house and we headed that way. On the way our friend Derek called and invited us over for a pool party. We were so excited we grabbed our suits and headed that way. We had a ton of fun and Will loved it. We got him a Wave Runner floaty and he totally digs it. There was good food, great friends and a wonderful atmosphere we couldn't have asked for more. So to everyone...Happy 4th from the Hydes.

Do-Rag Twins

This was taken at our last swimming outing. I thought it was blog worthy! Enjoy!
