Please choose a Pappy

Will loved his pappy. Will and his pappy went every together. I used to complain about the pappy; finding them, keeping them, cleaning them, all things pappy I really didn't like. Oh how silly was I, I would give Cooper anything if he would just take a pappy.
I have bought ALL the different kids, Nuk, Soothie, Mam, Avent, Gerber; you name it I have it. He doesn't want it, he won't take it and now he is actually screaming when you put it in your mouth. Now if he begin to chewing on them himself all is ok but soothing himself with one is just not an option. I am sure one day when I am not taking the pappy away I will be thankful but right now I am just jealous of every mom I see with a baby who is sucking their pappy.
One quick side note, Happy Anniversary to my sweet parents who today are celebrating their 30th Wedding Anniversary. Mom and Dad I am so excited for you all and wish you were celebrating in a fabulous hotel but I am glad you are at home celebrating together and not in a hospital. You guys are wonderful parents and I am blessed to have you as an example of a soild and loving marriage. Love you both.

My Sister comes Tomorrow

Yep thats right, my sister comes tomorrow. I am so excited and so is Will. We needed to go to Sams tonight, well I asked Will if he wanted to go to Sams with me or stay home. He chose to go, when we got in the car he wanted a movie since we were going to MooMa's. I let him know we were going to Sams not to see Sam, he said ok and I parked. As we were getting out he asked, "so Sam will meet us here?", no Will she won't she will be here tomorrow. But this is Sams, yes it is Sams but its not Aunt Sams. I tried to explain how Sams but just a name and it was just like Target. He disagreed because at Target you get popcorn. At this point I cut my losses and started talking about what juice we should get. So needless to say he is excited to see Sam and so am I. Drive safely sister.

Brotherly Love

Will is the best big brother ever. He loves Cooper and is so interested in everything that is Cooper. We were at Gymboree last week, during parachute time Will asked to hold him. There they sat, Cooper in Will's lap and Will with his arms wrapped tightly around his brother. Will was even doing the hand motions to the songs so Cooper could see. It was the most precious thing ever, all the other mommys were jealous.
Just a quick shout out to some other readers, Sam and Grandpa - Glad you are reading!

Tuesdays

Tuesdays are Bible Study days at our house. We all get rounded up and out of the house by 9:15 and head to church. This was the last week in our study of Ruth and next week we will be working in the food pantry. The food panty, clothes closet, well all of the Community Minisrty, has been heavy on my heart for a while. I want to do so many things but just feel like I can't. I refuse to allow the "season of life" I am in be an excuse. I want the boys to grow up knowing how to serve others and that by serving others we are doing exactly what Jesus wants us to do. Friday is the Community Ministry Banquet, we are all going as a family and I am looking forward to learning more and seeing what other opportunities there are for our little family to serve. On another note our new Bible Study will be Calm my Anxious Heart, should be good.

The Hyde Boys

I have to say I am very proud of myself. I have posted everyday this year, now I understand it is still January but still, that is great for me. So as I am posting more I have discovered I don't have much to say. Some people use their blog to share things about their life, family, activities, things like that, but I don't know what to tell all my readers. (Hi Mom and Alicia) So here are there the Top 3 Thoughts for the Day.
1. Soccer sign up is happening now and I am thinking of signing up Will
2. I am really trying to stick with my Fly Lady cleaning. I am in the main bathroom this week. Fun. But hey my sink is shiny and my laundry is done. :)
3. Cooper is teething and it blows. He still doesn't have his front teeth but he is getting the one next to it, it makes for awesome night time sleep. ;)

Now for the pictures

Gingerbread House

Will and I had a date at Gmyboree in December to make Christmas crafts. We made a few keepsake ornarments but the highlight was the ginderbread house. I love being able to let Will put on tons of different candies and icings without getting suck with all the leftovers. It was nice to get away and have some fun just the two of us, we need to do it more often.

Snail Mail - Look what came

My new obsession is lunch gear, I love it and can't get enough. This is one of my new additions, reusable zipbags. I found them on Etsy and they are fantastic. Not only are they super cute they package the came in was decorated so cute and she even personalized this for Will. Usually they say "Vroom" where his name is. They came in a set with one sandwich bag and two snack bags. They velcro closed and Will can even open them. You can wash them in the machine or just rinse them out. Overall they get a thumbs up from the Hyde Family.

Mr. Personality

As Cooper is growing and changing everyday we are getting to see more of his personality He has really started to come into his own. I love watching him watch Will, he gets so excited and can make his little bouncer just go and go. When you say something to him he doesn't understand he just raises one eyebrow and just studies you. We are just having so much fun getting to know our little guy. Love you Coop.

Grandma Cookie

Before we had Will we all discussed what he would call everyone. Dad was going to be Grandpa and Sam was going to be Aunt Sam, which Will turned into Mammie. We couldn't think of the perfect name for Mom. It finally came down between 2 names, Cookie and MooMa. I wanted Cookie since baking sugar cookies is something we ALWAYS did I thought it was perfect. Well in the end MooMa won and we all love it. MooMa comes from well...the tremendous amount of cows you see on the way to Borger. When we take Cyrus he loves the cows and the majority of the time in the car we say, Cyrus see the Moo Moos? Moo Moos? See the Moo Moos? So there it is, the story of MooMa. Of course this trip to Borger wouldn't be complete without making cookies. Notice how they make it look like they worked "really" hard.

Homemade Baby Food

Cooper is reaching milestones everyday. He was sitting up before 5 months, he has 2 teeth and he is eating solids. While I was pregnant with him I knew there were things I wanted to do differently than I did with Will. I feel like I know so much more now and feel like I can be a better mom. One change I wanted to make was diapering. After tons of research I knew cloth diapers would be a change I wanted to make and after 5 months it has been a great decision. Another change I wanted to make was to make Cooper's food. Only a few weeks in to making food I have to say I think it is a good choice. Cooper really loves it and making it is super easy. Cloth diapers and making baby food - CHECK!

Christmas Day - Borger Style

We had a great time in Borger for Christmas. We had a "Christmas Eve" and "Day". We had a great food, all from Sam's new cookbook and it was a fun time just being together. Of course for Will the most exciting part came in the form of presents. Aunt Sam really made his day, it was a Toy Story Christmas. And I have to be honest, when I am cleaning and I pick up Woody it kind of freaks me out, I always feel like he is looking at me.

We love you MooMa!

Mom, as you sit in a hospital bed know that we are thinking of you and we love you. We wish that we were there sitting beside you and telling you that everything is going to be ok. Know there are lots (and I mean lots) of prayers coming your way, some from people you don't even know.
To everyone who is praying, thank you and know you are making a difference. Mom is able to eat tonight and should be home soon.

Sledding

As the boys headed out to make their snowman, Aunt Sam and I headed out to find a sled. Now this was an easy trip since Borger has about 2 stores. Ace Hardware had a great one we picked up for $20, I thought it was a great deal. After 2 sledding sessions and hours of fun it was a great purchase.
The sledding location was an empty lot next to a church. From the top of the hill to the bottom was 2 football fields. It was so fun to sled but the walk back up the hill was a trek.
Yes that would be the plant in the backgroud. Watch Will go, he loved it.
He was even a big enough boy to carry his sled back up the hill.
And back down again.
Stop for some snowballs. Good picture if I say so myself.
While Daddy was taking a turn, Will tried the trashcan lid. It didn't work so well.
This is how they started going down. It didn't take long for Will to go on his own.

Even Mommy and Aunt Sam took a turn.

He had a blast, the sled on the other hand took a beating.
It was so nice to have a white Christmas this year. Stay tuned for "Christmas Day" pictures.
